A little about me
I am born and bred in Dursley, and I can't imagine living anywhere else. I am so lucky to live in a place like this, especially when the sun is shinning! I am very family orientated, I love spending time with my family in my spare time. Im also known to love a bit of shopping, but what women doesn't!!!
I love to go on holiday and visit new countries, I was very lucky to visit New York City for my 30th Birthday which had been on my bucket list for sometime. Hopefully one day I would love to visit Australia, I think this love has come from watching Australian soaps as a child. I have continued this love as an adult watching 'Neighbours', the only soap I watch.
My favourite animal is the cat, of which I have two fur babies of my own. Chip - our big cuddly bear, and Sox - our little independent girl. We adopted this bother and sister pair in 2019 from Stroud cats protection. I have always been bought up with cats so when I left home I couldn't wait to have a cat or two of my own, however it took me a few years to convince my partner!!
My proudest moment was firstly graduating from the University of Worcester, I had always wanted to wear a cap and gown and have that moment but I never thought this would be something I could achieve within my chosen career path.
My second proudest moment was in 2019, where I was very proud to open my own Beauty Cabin, something I dreamed of and I have been lucky enough to achieve. My own little premises, something I can call mine, something to show how far I had come. I am very thankful to my clients who have supported and helped me achieve my dream and my family for their continued support.
A little about my training & career development
I did my initial training at Stroud College doing a two year BTEC National Diploma in beauty therapy science. Once completed I went on do to a Foundation Degree Arts in Health and Complementary Therapies where I gained my ITec qualification in Reflexology. Whilst completing my degree I worked in a local salon, then after achieving my degree I began working in a 4 star hotel spa, where I gained product knowledge of Elemis and Decléor. During my time working in the spa I gained training in Jessica nail care and found my passion of using products to look after and encourage growth of the natural nail.
I have always had a passion of having my own business. Whilst being self-employed and building my business, I worked part-time in a salon to continue my product knowledge, training and keeping up-to-date with advancements within the beauty industry. In the salon I have gained knowledge and experience with Dermalogica skincare.
In 2018 I left employment and became 100% my own boss, which has been the best thing I ever did, I absolutely love it. Since this move I have continued my professional development by training with the brand Katherine Daniels of which I am proud to use within the business. I am consistly refreshing my skills and training so I can provide the best up to date techniques for my clients.
