Infection Prevention and Control Policy

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention & Control Policy

For

Shanna’s Infusion of Beauty

All of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. I have missed being able to offer you the treatments that I know you love, and I am looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the salon I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time I have been shut, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. And The Barbicide COVID-19 Certification. I have since made a number of changes in the way that I operate that you will notice when you next visit.

There will also be a small surcharge of £2 added to each appointment for the added cost of PPE.

Booking Appointments

If I feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately, this may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again or ask for a full refund.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. I have amended my booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness.

You will be emailed a COVID-19 health questionnaire the day before your appointment. Consultation forms will also be sent digitally. For mobile appointments you will also be sent a “preparing for my mobile appointment” questionnaire.

Visiting the Beauty Cabin

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving.

If you could leave belongings at home or in your car. If not there will be a box at the front door to keep you belongings safe during your appointment.

I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the beauty cabin including making sure that common surfaces, toilets, door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected and sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety. For Mobile appointments tools will be in a sterilised sealed packet.

Wherever possible we will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

You will have access to soap and hot water to wash your hands with and I will also have hand sanitiser available for you to use when you come into the salon.

If I can please ask you to bring and wear your own face mask. If you come without a mask I do have fabric masks retailing at £3. I will understand and not be offended if you wish to wear disposable gloves when you visit me and during your treatment if this is appropriate.

I can confirm that the laundering of salon towels and uniforms is a priority I can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed from the treatment area every day.

Mobile appointment

I will send you a COVID-19 heath questionnaire and “Preparing for your mobile appointment” questionnaire to be completed.

The client must provide assurance to the therapist that no one in the their household has had symptoms of COVID-19 for the last 7 days.

I ask that all surface are cleaned (including the bathroom) that I may need to touch during the appointment, using regular cleaning detergent. I also request that you provide all towels and linen needed for your treatment. Windows are to be kept open throughout the treatment where possible to allow fresh air to circulate.

My treatments

Please don’t be surprised or upset if I use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / face masks / face shield / aprons where appropriate.

I have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and following the governments restrictions I will not be providing the following treatments until further notice these treatments include:

Facial waxing

Eyebrow treatments

Eyelash treatments

Facials

I will also be modifying massage, so it will not include the usual neck and shoulder element due to the closeness to the face. However I will spend the time working on the clients neck when face down.

During your treatment

I understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that I wash my hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment and at the end.

I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to satisfy you.

After the treatment

I am for you pay for your treatment by cash or  bank transfer.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.

Thanks you for your understanding.
